This is your chance to make a real impact – across borders and business sectors – while working on high-level legal matters in a company that constantly values innovation, collaboration, and growth.As Legal Counsel, joining a team of senior and junior professionals, you’ll be at the heart of the legal operations across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. Your expertise will guide the business through both day-to-day legal matters and high-level strategic initiatives – including the adoption of new digital technologies such as A.I.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders (such as external counsels), acting as a trusted advisor in areas such as commercial contracts, distribution law, corporate housekeeping, real estate, antitrust compliance, …
What you´ll do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in a B2B and B2C environment, across Benelux and France;
- Manage corporate housekeeping matters in Benelux, consulting with external legal advisors;
- Provide legal support on real estate issues, including lease, purchase and facility agreements;
- Contribute to dispute resolution and assist with risk mitigation strategies;
- Embrace legal innovation efforts, including AI-driven legal tools and digital legal platforms;
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments like HR, Finance, IT, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Corporate Communications, … and work together with external counsels if necessary;
- Be a strategic partner to the business, offering initiative-taking and practical legal guidance.
What makes you a good fit
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in corporate law and commercial contracts – ideally in a cross-border or international context;
- Languages: Fluent in English, with strong proficiency in French and Dutch;
- Skills: Deep understanding of corporate governance and contract law, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable and pragmatic business advice;
- Mindset: Tech-savvy, curious, innovative and solution-oriented. You’re not just a lawyer, you are also a partner to the business and you are able to align legal advice with operational goals. You are stress resilient and not afraid of taking the extra mile;
- Background: Prior experience in an in-house legal international environment is highly valued, ideally complemented by experience gained in a law firm, including an international practice.
- Team Fit: You are a genuine team player who puts collaboration first. You actively contribute to a supportive and high-performing legal team, readily share knowledge and best practices. You bring a positive, proactive energy to everything you do.
